卫生部宣布，烟草销售许可证现已开放申请。
根据《烟草控制法》第一修正案，烟草制品批发和零售商除了必须获得贸易许可证外，还必须获得卫生部颁发的有效许可证。
卫生部宣布，必须在三个月内领取烟草销售许可证。
许可证申请可以通过 OneGov 门户发送给 HPA。
烟草销售需要四个单独的许可证。它们是：
- 烟草制品批发或零售许可证
- 烟草制品进口许可证
- 烟草制品转口许可证
- 新型烟草制品注册
该部表示，这些许可证的有效期为五年。每张许可证也需要缴纳一定的费用。续期申请必须在现有许可证到期前60天提交。
烟草批发和零售的费用为5000马尔代夫卢比，续期费用相同。进口和再出口的费用为10000马尔代夫卢比。在咖啡馆和餐馆设立吸烟区的费用为10000马尔代夫卢比。
如有任何违反规定的行为，许可证将被吊销。该法规定，此类违规行为的罚款为1000马尔代夫卢比至100万马尔代夫卢比。、
